I told my friend I couldn't in good conscience recommend their mutual funds since I knew Vanguard was a better option for most people. So, as you can guess, in the end I didn't become a rep. In addition some searching on the internet has lots of tales about how Primerica charges you a set up fee and then monthly fees to use their computers, office space, support, etc, so really they're making money off you whether you make any money or not. However, the problem becomes that they try to get you to put your money in mutual funds that are offered through them which are often pricier expense ratios, have loads.you get the idea. The rep then convinces the client to then use the savings this generates to invest for retirement. refinance their mortgage to a lower rate when possible and 2. The ideas that Primerica promotes in and of itself are not bad in that they encourage people to do two things right: 1. I did a bit of research online and found that it's basically multi-level marketing, so the way you make money is not just by getting your friends and family to buy their products but more so by bringing in other people who work under you and then you get a portion of their referral income (like Amway, etc). because they knew about my interest in financial matters and I had my financial house in order for the most part at an early age (20s). Someone I knew worked for Primerica and approached me about being a rep.
